These might be the reasons of this error. The error says “Connection failed with error 651”. We are here with a working solution to get rid of this error while trying to establish an Internet connection. Following we have mentioned all the possible ways with which one can easily connect to the Internet without getting any errors. Take a look!

Method 1 : Reconnect your Router

If you are using a Wi-Fi router to connect to the Internet, kindly restart it once. You may fix this error just by restarting your Router. If you are using a LAN connection to connect to the Internet, kindly remove the cable and plug it back to the device. You have to unplug the LAN cable for up to 5 minutes.

Method 2 : Changing Network Stack

User can even reset the networking stack in order to remove this error. Follow below steps to reset this network stack on your system.

Launch Command Prompt Window on your PC

Now enter following command into the command prompt window and then hit the Enter button

netsh int ip reset reset.log 

Once you enter the command, make sure to Restart your PC once. The error might be solved and you’ll be able to connect to the Internet easily.

Method 3  : Create a new Dial-up connection

You can simply create a new Dial-up connection to connect your system to the PC. In order to do so, just follow below given steps.



Step 1 :

Open Network & Sharing Center 

Step 2 :



Now, click on Change Adapter Settings option

Step 3 :

Right click on your broadband or dial-up connection and select Create Copy option.

Step 4 :

By doing so, a copy of your current dial-up connection will be created.



Step 5 :



Delete the existing Dial-up connection and try to connect with the new one, your error will be solved!



Method 4 : By Disabling IPv6

User can simply disable IPv6 of your Internet connection in order to solve this error. If you are ready to follow this process, just do as we say.

Step 1 :

Go to the Control Panel of your system and select Network & Internet option from there.



Step 2 :

After this, select Network & Sharing Center option.

Step 3 :

Now, simply click on your active network connection from the same page.



Step 4 :

Select Properties option and then switch to Networking tab from the same Window.



Step 5 :

Go to Internet Protocol version 6 (TCP/IPv6) 

Step 6 :



Uncheck the box and then hit the Ok button.

Step 7 :



Restart your system once, the Error 651 will be solved.
