Windows 10 VPN Setup Tutorial – Easy Steps to Add a VPN on Your PC / Laptop

Setting up a VPN in Windows 10 is quite easy and simple. However, it requires proper credentials to setup your own VPN network in Windows 10 system. Step 1 :

First, make sure to login with Administrator to your Windows 10 PC. Turn on the Windows 10 PC and login with proper credentials.

Step 2 :

Once you see the home page of Windows 10 on your desktop, make sure to click on the Start button which is located at the bottom left corner of the Windows 10 PC.

Step 3 :

Once you click the Start button, you would be presented with a number of options. From the left panel, click on to the Settings option.

Step 4 :

Settings Window will be presented to you with a few more options. From here, you need to select Network and Internet icon.

Step 5 :

Once you click on the Network and Internet icon, you could see a VPN option on the left panel. Kindly click on to the VPN option from the left panel.

Step 6 :

You could see + button with Add a VPN Connection option. Make sure to click on to this option to move ahead with the process.

Step 7 :

After this, you would see a blue color window with proper field box which are required to setup a VPN. Make sure all the fields are filled with proper credentials of your VPN.

Step 8 :

At last, you would see a checkbox with a message, “Remember my sign-in info“. Kindly select the checkbox so you don’t have to bother about remembering the password and other information of the network.

Step 9 :

Click on the Save button given at the bottom of the page to save your new VPN Network in Windows 10 Operating System.

If you are using a Public computer where you want to setup your VPN network, you might not needed to check this box to remember the details of your network. It is better for you to keep it unchecked if you are using it on any other computer and not your personal computer.

Once you see your new VPN network here, you could see three buttons below the network name. Connect, Properties and Forget. From here, you need to click on the WiFi or Ethernet icon from the System Tray. You could see the name of the newly created VPN network with proper name. Click on to the name of the VPN to start connecting it. You can simply disconnect with the network by visiting the Network & Internet section and then choosing the VPN network which is connected. Click the Disconnect button to disconnect from that VPN network.
